In this expressionist painting we see the Lord in the cross taking all sin and sickness on His body. The dramatic colors in the bottom represent  the sinful nature of mankind, the darkness, the violence, the confusion, and the evil in it. Within the dark spot we can discover a city covered with darkness. From the cross there are beams of color symbolizing the power of redemption coming out of His beaten body. In the right side we see small circles that represent the treason by which Judas sold the Lord for money.
